The "Human Proteome" pages provide a knowledge-based analysis and entry into the Human Protein Atlas from various transections of the human proteome. Different aspects of the proteome are described on pages that include:
the tissue specific proteome,
the housekeeping proteome,
the regulatory proteome,
the secretome and membrane proteome,
the isoform proteome,
the cancer proteome and
the druggable proteome. Analyses of the gene expression pattern for the various proteomes are included on respective pages together with clickable comprehensive tables and figures, including examples of protein expression patterns, that link into the Human Protein Atlas database.
Equivalent transections of the human proteome data are also presented on different organ proteome pages. Analyses of gene expression patterns accompanied by examples of protein expression in particular cells, tissues and organ systems are presented for 27 different normal human tissue types. For certain tissue types that have similar anatomy, histology, function or morphology, a compiled analyses is given on a summarizing page, such as
Bone marrow and lymphatic tissues and
Gastrointestinal tract. Also for the knowledge-based organ proteome pages there are multiple clickable tables, figures and examples that link into the Human Protein Atlas database. The available data facilitates better understanding and searches for specific knowledge regarding the gene expression landscape in a specific part of the human body.
